Matt Samnik: My son Merino started at trench 1 year ago this week. Although he was a decent size kid his form, footwork, speed, agility, line skills, football IQ and strength were all way below average. We decided to dedicate our time to Trench and go all in. We graduated ramp up, which was a great feeling to earn your spot to train at Trench. We trained with the young dawgs for 7 months doing weight lifting, speed, agility, position specific skill training and combined that with one on one training with Coach Taylor than moved on to Coach Ray. Merino played for Tarpon 14U and did very well, he played for his middle school team but did not start and actually didn’t play a lot. That hurt his ego a bit I know. All in all you could tell he made a huge leap in the short 7 months of training. As time went on Coach Ray dialed in on Merino’s skill set and adjusted his training. He was moved up to Elite Prep at trench and the one on ones were more intense, the speed and agility became tougher. Merino trains with kids older, larger and much more skilled than himself at age 13. The athletes around him help him and encourage him and elevate his game. We now started attending Sunday mentorship training and Coach Taylor and Coach Ray would fine tune Merino position specific play during academy drills. We would go back with Coach Ray and dial in his skill set more and more as well during private sessions. It’s sometimes feels overwhelming but you just have to trust the process. What most people do not know is that it’s merinos dream to become a starting tight end. Most teams see him as a tackle type lineman but, he loves to catch and he loves the blocking tight end position. I keep telling him to work hard, listen to the coaches, train at home between sessions etc… 1 year later we sign merino up late for a premiere league in Pasco. He’s the new kid, positions have been set and coaches have seen what they need to have seen to set up the team for the season. He has a few friends from past teams in this team so he feels pretty comfortable. We had a long talk before practice and I tell him to go in and capitalize on any opportunity he can get. Show them the foot work you have, show them the power you worked so hard for. Countless hours over the course of the year training when no one else wants to. The head coach called one on one drills and paired merino up with a veteran lineman from this league. Merino dug in and over powered 5 lineman in drills and in each drill after that displayed technique and skill set he has learned from trench. Not 2 hours later he was named starting TE. It was so awesome to see as a father his face when they called his name for heavy formation and 1st team tight end. He still has 4.5 more years to train with trench before hopefully a college offer. I can’t imagine what he will look like in 4.5 years. Thank you trench and and all the coaches. I will keep everyone posted!!!

Jacob Thims: DO IT!That is best review I can give.This team knows what they’re doing and our experience has been phenomenal.Specifically, working with Coach Brown—the details matter. He makes on the spot corrections and gets the most out of each rep.Separately, I watched the coaches work with the OLine and Dline. They are creating technically sound monsters.Lastly, the environment is solid. They have fun but put in serious work. Youth, young adults and beyond. Glad we found them and hope this team continues.Oh and the front desk guys are pretty solid too.

All of the coaches at the Trench are top notch from Coach Ray, Coach Quake, Coach Mike, Coach LaMark, Coach Antron, and Coach Taylor. This review is about their newest addition and that is Coach Denzel, aka Deuce. What he has done in such a short period of time with my son is beyond amazing. He has transformed a kid who has always played OLB and Edge into a true athlete who can play corner and safety now as well. It's not just the teaching, it's the mindset he instills in them. From the classroom to the field he reminds them the only limits are the ones they place on themselves. As he always says "We crafting out here". If you are looking for true development then this is the place you need to visit and if you are looking for position specific training at CB or Safety he is the man to see.

Brandee Daly: I cannot say enough great things about Trench Academy or the coaches there! Taylor Scott gives so much of his time and effort to invest in each player to make them successful! He cares about them personally and spends countless hours helping them grow athletically and technically in their position. My son has been going there for 9 months and has had Coach Joseph, Coach Ray, and Coach Taylor all coaching him. I have seen so much growth in my son over the 9 months not just from the training, but from individual review of film. Coaches take the time to get online with him weekly to review his game film. They provide feedback and adjustments that we have seen a HUGE difference in his play and knowledge of the position and opponents. It has been so successful that many of his teammates are now coming to training and doing film review as well. We are so glad we found Trench Academy, and I am so thankful to all the coaches there for the investment in my child and others to help them be successful and coach them in a positive and constructive environment. I only wish we would have know about them sooner!

Terry McDonald: If you are looking for a professional to build a foundation, train and have your athlete accomplish their goals, Raymond McNeil is the man for the job. He was able to provide a primary assessment in order to meet my son at his level and create a detailed training plan to get the most out of every training session. We do not live in the local area and Coach Ray would make himself available on the days we would drive down to Tampa. He is a person of integrity and I look forward to having my other sons train with him in the future

M. C. Bob Leonard: My wife went to Plant. My kids went to Plant. You can not get a better education in Tampa than this school. The great thing about Plant is the large number of third generation families that Plant has. It is obviously an upscale neighborhood, but my wife and I coached a team and needed to raise a bunch of cash for the world championships. Every fund raising event drew a big crowd and people with no kids at Plant came out to contribute money. The AP courses meant my kids didn't have to take a bunch of courses in college. You could double your major with that advantage.

Josh J. Stewart, Esq.: As a graduate from Berkeley, I can say that although the curriculum was challenging and the classroom environment competitive, the experience was worthwhile. I was more than adequately prepared for college. Berkeley has an aggressive and effective program for college placement. As for their sports teams, I was fortunate to have played on their soccer team that won the Florida State title three years in a row; 1993 AA, 1994 AAA, and 1995 4A. There is a strong emphasis on achievement and being successful is most certainly expected. While no school can get every single factor of providing an education absolutely perfect, I think Berkeley comes pretty darn close!

My child is happy and there is usually a decent amount of communication between teachers and parents.Like many schools I do find teachers to be hit or miss, some are good at their job and some simply do not care.Only downfall is the faculty has a difficult time making decisions on process and procedure leaving parents guessing. Every member of the staff will tell you something different, seems to be a break down in communication between administration and staff.

Melissa Carlson: This school provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the 7 grade levels. It does a great job of fostering community within the student body and outside in the community at large through regular philanthropic events. The teachers want to see their students succeed and make themselves available to students to provide one-on-one support as needed. Personally, I love that it is considered "cool" to work hard and do your best. Tampa Prep has helped my son become more confident and self assured, and helped him stretch outside his comfort zone via public speaking opportunities and through playing in band. The school also provides field trips to encourage experiential learning and reinforcing current content. My son looks forward to going to school.

Chelsea Nauta: TP truly prepared me to excel in college. When I got to UGA, classes felt easy, I was so far ahead of my peers in my ability to study, organize an essay, communicate ideas and think critically.I was a D1 athlete and many of my teammates were overwhelmed when they got to college. Thanks to TP, I had all the skills I needed to balance the demands of being an NCAA student athlete.

They guide the kids through what can be a tricky transition from elementary school into middle school. Very supportive and nurturing.The high school provides a rigorous academic program coupled with a variety of clubs, sports and other groups the students can participate in.They also take college counseling very seriously and provide a strong team to assist students and parents through the process.

True as one comment states, it is very expensive, and that goes beyond tuition. Cookie Crafter_YT: I did a shadow there.One of the things I liked were how the chairs were very moveable.The students were very welcoming for example this one girl said with a smile said welcome to Tampa prep! I like how the kids know how to order online with their iPads! In one class the girl who shadowed me had a test so the teacher was very nice and let me played some games on her iPad.I know it's a very expensive school but it seems worth it. (:
