Abroad in Milan: reminds me of a big city hidden gem. Great place to catch up with friends or romantic date.Burrata & tomato salad was good & fresh but burrata comes cut so you only really get a half. Comes with balsamic drizzle that’s on the sweeter side. Empanadas are good. They’re fried & made with the smooth dough. They come with 2 sauces but too bad neither are spicy. Mushroom flatbread was good. Farmer’s Platter choose five from cheeses & salumi. Cheeses were nice, nothing too punchy except for the Cambozola. The Sottocenere was our favorite. As far as salumi, was not bad. Didn’t love the chorizo, just didn’t taste authentic, more like an American version of spicy salami or soppressata. Everything else was tasty. Standard prices for value.Will definitely go back & try some of the other menu items we missed.Parking: We found a spot straight away in their lot but I could see on busiest nights it may be difficult.
Keno Ro: Came for brunch on a Saturday morning/afternoon and to my surprise the place was empty. Why? I don't know but the food was AMAZING! I got the Cru Burger with Truffle fries. 10/10 My lady got the Filet & Crab Benedict which she loved! We order the Cinnamon Roll for to go but Jay the Chef had us try his special dessert...Almond Jay. This desert had us forget about the Cinnamon Roll which was also great. The Almond Jay was extremely delicious. We will definitely be back soon!

M. H.: The Wine Exchange in Hyde Park is a charming wine bar with an impressive selection of wines. The bar area up front is nicely set up, and there are additional seating options towards the back. The service was fantastic - our waitress was friendly and provided excellent suggestions from the menu. Whether you're planning a date night or an evening out with friends, this is an excellent option. I've visited a couple of times and always enjoyed just sitting at the bar to drink wine. On my latest visit, we decided to have dinner, and I must say, the food was absolutely delicious.We started with the Deviled Eggs, and they were so good that I would order again. For the main course, I had the Jerk Grilled Salmon with Mashed Potatoes and Mixed Vegetables. The Jamaican Banana butter complemented the dish nicely. I also appreciate that the restaurant offers different greens for side dishes. Overall, I highly recommend The Wine Exchange for an enjoyable wine and dining experience.

Fed ex will not let me file a claim it must come from company that shipped the product. Customer service finally got back to me and they replaced my order.

We participate in the educational tastings each week. We have always loved wine, but now we know more about wine and what we are tasting. The sommeliers are super knowledgeable and always hit the mark with their recommendations.

Additionally, if I lived closer I would most certainly join the wine club. happened to be there during one wine club night and it is such an excellent opportunity to learn about a variety of wines from all over the world. While tasting each presented wine you learn the intricacies of each specific wine. Fun, educational and a great value.

We said yes and chose chicken. The chicken was tender and delicious but an $11 upcharge for AT MOST a half of a breast of chicken is absurd. Pic included. Great food, great service but the value on some dishes is just not there.

Marina Machado: My friend and I visited this little gem a few weeks back. It was my second time at Vela's. I have to say that service is consistently good as well as the food/cocktails. I was not really impressed with my red sangria as I personally enjoy those on a sweeter side, however, Jess K. did mention that if I wanted a sweeter option, I should probably go with their white sangria. My personal preference is red, however. The SHRIMP KABOB as well as GRILLED CHICKEN KABOB with a side of GRILLED PITA, HUMMUS, GREEK SALAD, TZATZIKI, FETA were outstanding. TIRAMISU did not disappoint either and was quite a generous portion in comparison to majority of the restaurants serving it. We liked it so much we ordered 3 desserts to - go.Vela Italian Tavern is located in the middle of the newly developed apartments on Bridge Street and Marina Way off of West Gandy Blvd. Easy to find free parking as there are plenty of parking spots just to the left of the restaurant.This spot is perfect for a quiet dinner as it is intimate and serene. At least it was when we dined there. I will be back and would recommend to try it for sure!
