Maegan Monzon: Dr. Shepard is such a rarity in the medical field. He truly cares about his patients.I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy performed by him last year...which can be a nerve wracking experience. He was so kind, it's amazing how even a year later I still remember the gentle shoulder squeeze he gave me to help ease my nerves.I have been to several other gastro doctors over the last several years and have not found another doctor like him.I highly recommend his experience and expertise.His office staff is also kind and courteous, which is a nice plus.Thank you, Dr. Shepard.

Jamie Barrett: Dr. Shepard really takes the time to listen to you. I drive over an hour to see him for over a decade now. He believes in natural remedies and medication. I have never trusted a doctor as much as I have trusted Dr. Shepard. He believes that diet could have a lot to do with your health. Due to diet changes and medication he has helped me with my ulcerative colitis. I highly recommend him, and my only regret will be when he retires.
K Schenck: He is an exceptional doctor who always is kind and helps the patients understand their physical issues. I was so ill in 2005 that I was not sure I would make it. I had no support system. My Uc was terrifying. I got balance thanks to Doc Shepard! My insurance covered him once after that experience. His staff was great then too. I later was also found to have Celiac and the associated skin disease known as Durings disease. This meant blistering itching and horrible skin infections. infections including one that almost took my life. I cannot take any combined drugs for long and after much suffering realizef generic prescriptions would equally turn my life into a hell. It's not just food that can create a very bad reaction but medicines can as wellI recommend Dr sherpard and if you have any chronic intestinal issue. Thanks forever. God bless you and those he brings to you.I did not go thru the celiac discovery with Doc Shepard but I am sure he would help.

Jessica Chachula: His experience and expertise match the years he has been in business, he is very knowledgeable. The thing that makes Dr. Shepard unique is that he cares about his patients like its his first year in practice. He doesn’t require you to make multiple appointments to get as much insurance money as possible and make you drive back and forth. He will do what he can in the time given to make you feel heard. Gastro can be a tricky guessing game but he will do his research and not give up on you.

Tom Wilson: Dr. Jorge Marcet treated my wife, Thea, for over a year in a new clinical trial 14 years ago after she was initially diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer, downgraded to Stage 3 after further testing. We are both RN's and because of Dr. Marcet and his team, Thea returned to work and has now retired! Our daughter is graduating this semester from USF and pursuing a career in medicine.I have recently, and finally authored a book featuring his surgical skill, the coordination with the many others involved in Thea's survival.14 years have passed and we are forever grateful for his caring and expertise!

Marcet was quick to schedule my surgery to remove the tumor, had it done in 2 weeks from colonoscopy, and determined he was correct, it was malignant. He overcommunicated, had an amazing bedside manner and was thoroughly on top of everything. I have and always will recommend Dr Marcet for any colo-rectal surgery.

Jen Hirsch: I began having symptoms that drove me to the emergency room in June 2019 and was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in July. I couldn’t stay out of the hospital. In August I was already hospitalized for my UC symptoms when my colon perforated, I became septic, and had to have life-saving surgery. I woke up with an ileostomy, spent 56 days in the hospital, and lost 90 pounds. Adjusting to my ileostomy was excruciating. For nearly a year I battled with supplies and was only able to get an average of two days use from a bag before it leaked. I was anxious to have my ileostomy reversal. My surgeon in Lakeland who performed my life-saving surgery in August 2019 always talked about reversing my ileostomy but never really informed me of the details of the procedure. I didn’t even know the procedure had a name other than ileostomy reversal. I consulted with Dr. Seminario-Diel at Tampa General Hospital after my surgeon in Lakeland repeatedly delayed my reversal. Dr. Seminario referred me to Dr. Marcet and he changed my life in the best of ways. He was knowledgeable and informative about my procedure even providing visual aids to instruct me on what my surgery would involve. I was booked for surgery a week and two days after my initial meeting with him. Dr. Marcet made me feel at ease and I was very confident in his surgical skills. He prioritized my post-operative care and showed genuine interest and investment in my recovery. I would recommend Dr. Marcet to anyone seeking quality gastrointestinal care.
Wendy Graham: Dr Marcet did my colonectomy and jpouch surgeries 14 years ago. I have had many doctors since tell he did a beautiful job. I don’t think he spends much FaceTime with patients. I guess not everyone is a people person. I would give him a 4.8 for that reason
Cheley Buff: Dr Marcet and his staff became my mother's surgeon in August or September 2016. I believe that Dr. Marcet and his staff helped save my mothers life. It took 18 months to get her strong enough for surgery to fix the first surgery performed by another surgeon at another local hospital. Dr. Marcet is known for taking only cancer patients and yet he reviewed my mom's case - he had a challenge - and all we were looking was doctor that could fix her. His knowledge, kindness, patience, understanding and care for a little old lady is very much appreciated. If you are lucky enough to be treated by Dr. Marcet consider yourself in the hands of an angle.
