Sew South Tampa: what do users think?

Minh Duong: . I really like the fun, creative, and structured learning environment. It was one of my daughter's favorite summer camps. So much that she's signed up for the program during the school year. Would highly recommend for anyone with kids yearning for a creative outlet in a great learning environment!!

Sadie Bauck: I can't say enough nice things about Sew South Tampa Lori and Rachel are great teachers and have the patience for all levels of sewers. I would recommend this for any parent that is looking for not only a program that will teach your kids lessons about sewing, but about life as well. At the end of the year, they host a fashion show and over the years it's has grown and become an established part of the curriculum and parents and kids can look forward to!

Madeleine Vaughn: is awesome! Would recommend to a friend with kids.

Nadia Davis (Eventful Nadia): OMG! My daughter loved it! The staff was super nice and very attentive to all of the kids. My daughter learned so much! We will definitely be taking her back next summer! Thank you guys for everything.

Alyson Waller: I had the pleasure of experiencing the Fashion Show this year and I just have to say these girls have developed an amazing program! One student made a skirt/jacket set that looked straight out of Chanel. I highly suggest this amazing organization. Owners/instructors, Rachel and Lori, are both patient and inspiring! I feel sewing is becoming a lost art and Sew South Tampa is making it fun and relevant again. They are starting to implement adult classes in addition to the after school kids program. I cannot recommend Sew South Tampa enough!

Shannon Greenhalgh: Sew South Tampa has taught my sister and I amazing life skills. I took adult classes and my sister took summer camps.Though my sister was a bit older than some other campers, she had never sewed before. This thought made her a bit nervous because she didn’t want to get left behind. However, after just one day of the week long camp, my sister was SO excited to go back and finish her projects, which turned out AMAZING.The camps were beginner-friendly, materials were prepped beforehand, and SST has many themed camps to choose from!I took adult classes and I am truly amazed with how much I learned. I didn’t even know how to thread a needle when I first began. After taking SST’s adult classes, I feel empowered with this new set of skills, and I use sewing in my everyday life now. Sewing is truly a lost art form and for my birthday this year, I will definitely be treating myself to a sewing machine so I can continue to foster and grow the fundamental skills the SST teachers taught me.

Douglas Belden: This is a wonderful place for young girls to learn the lost art of sewing. Sew South Tampa is run by 2 wonderful ladies who are fully dedicated to their students. I highly recommend this place.

Alfonso Ortiz: Love this place just something about it that keeps me coming back

Spool Studio: what do users think?

Disorderly House: !

Alexander Franceschi: The owner is named Erik and is a great dude. I came in originally because I needed alterations but it's so much more than that. They sell fabric, buttons, designs, and the owner makes his own outfits. It's a cute little place and a local business.

Michael Eschmann (Eeschmann): Super helpful and knowledgeable. Even makes custom clothing! Came here because my dog chewed my leather recliner they didn’t have the leather I needed at the time but still very helpful.

Jonathan Nixon Elder: I had my first lesson with Erik at Spool Studio, and I went from barely being able to sew a button to understanding the fundamentals of my sewing machine within one lesson. Erik is a very patient teacher, and readily walks you through the 'how,' but also clearly explains the 'why.' It was a lot of fun, and I'm excited for my next lesson. He has curated a great selection of fabrics as well. We are lucky to have this resource in the neighborhood!

Elena Kourchenko: Small shop but full of nice material. I found a pretty vintage fabric for a blouse with great help. I'll be back

Michael K.: This was our first trip to Spool Studio, and Erik, was extremely helpful. He explained the basic parts of our machine and what we needed, in order to start sewing lessons. As soon as we complete our " shopping trip", we will return for the lessons. Thanks, Erik! Signed, Michael & Don.

James Mark: I love this place. My mother was a seamstress back in the day and it just brought back some wonderful memories of dresses she made. Lots of unique fabrics and a great place to learn a new hobby in these times of ‘stay at home’. Also great place to give back to your community by shopping local.

Barma Reddy: Awesome shop. Got all my Sewing needs under one roof. Erik was so helpful

Ruth Jones: The most beautiful materialsVery unique.

Douglas Scroggs: Sweethearts

dawn boehmer: Wow! Organic knits, cottons! I love Spool Studio!

Tyler Kruse: Such a cute and awsome local fabric store that sells notions and patterns as well as thread and classes for learning to sew !

Jessica Tunnis: I love this place!!!

Bernina Sewing Center: what do users think?

Shaquonda Brown: I called to see what type of sewing services they provided, and she mentioned that they will be closing on April 20th, 2024.

Charlene Scola: Gregor oiled, cleaned and adjusted my machine and replaced both light bulbs in just a few days so that I could get back on my way traveling. He fixed issues and showed me the correct way to oil it, and even replaced a broken support pin for slide on table.Excellent service!! Highly recommend!!

Sally Cook: Great little store and service.

Patricia Zackschewski: Chucks is so amazing 1000 stars 🌟

Alicia Koeb: Gregor and his wife are absolutely lovely and are a wealth of knowledge. If it’s broke, they know how to fix it! They have a nice variety of classes and fabric as well.

Kathy Caldes: Gregor is the best at servicing Bernina machines.

Ann-Marie Greenlee: I purchased a new sewing machine and took a class to familiarize myself with it.. The atmosphere was laid back and the staff and customers were kind

charles wigand: Took an old time sewing machine to them people they went through it with a fine tooth comb and it works like a million dollars real happy with it gave it to a granddaughter she's tickled with it thank you again

Robin Sullivan: 🦋🌷💚🌸💜💕 🦋Excellent customer service, patient to show you how to use your new machine. Owners seem very trustworthy, friendly, and courteous.I would definitely buy my machine 100 times over again because Bernina is such an amazing quality!I was able to use all of the feet of my previous machine which is over 20 years old which was why I bought my machine.I spent about $9000 for the package but I got about $4000 off by a special that the Store gave me if I bought the embroidery module along with it. It’s the top of the line.Everything is so slick that I am astonishedI have something so amazing like a Bernina sewing machine! I think that I bought a series the number seven.I am so impressed by what I have bought: my new little beauty that I will fall in love with her. Her name is Sophia Bernina the Great!!!The store seemed like A little Oasis the first time I walked in the door. I was immediately dazzled and overwhelmed by the numerous bolts of attractive fabrics lined up on shelves and bins in every color of the rainbow.I felt that I wanted to just move in and live there and never leave because of all the exciting sewing materials. There are quilting books and patterns and classes and there is so much to do there that you really could live there and perhaps that could be an added feature. The Bernina Store Motel!!!There are classes that the ladies teach in the back and the camaraderie is very fun to see.It made me want to move to Tampa to just be near the store in Temple Terrace. The owner is a very good salesman and I would highly recommend the store.🦋🌷❤️💚💜

John K: Did a very professional job hemming a pair of pants at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

She also said she’d have my dress done earlier than I needed! Would definitely recommend to anyone tired of poor customer service.

Michele E.: Had a prom dress altered here. The wife is personable; the husband not so much. Work is great though. We tried a place in Wesley Chapel and Burlington at the University Mall. Gigi's Fabric Shop: what do users think?

Linda Coudriet: Unique shop

Shaquonda Brown: Very nice shop with many quilt patterns!!!

Amy B: . I was so happy with my sewing machine purchase, I called them to help me with my furniture. First of all, I tried to buy my machine from my local shop here where I live and unfortunately I never felt comfortable working with them. I ended up finding Gigi’s online from their YouTube videos. At first, I was a little leery about buying all of this from someone who wasn’t local, but let me tell you, that was not the case. All the customer service was excellent! They also were helpful friendly and went above and beyond to help me get what I needed within my price range. Bokie & David really take pride in helping their customers. There was also one other person, who helped me and I can’t remember their name. I think they might have been the owner. Basically, I had 3 different people who helped me and all of them were so fantastic. I have no worries that if I need anything or have questions they will be able to take care of it. I made all the transactions over the phone and never even had to go in person. THANK YOU Gigi’s Fabric shop!!!!

Mike Shumaker: We drove from Hudson to purchase an industrial sewing machine. They demoed them for us and we eventually made a $2500+ purchase.

Jean Montle: Boki was very helpful talking to me about my stitch problems with my machine and giving me different ideas thank-you

Krupa Patel: They’re really nice and will help you get just what you need.

Elizabeth Robinson: The staff at Gigi’s makes this place! They honestly and sincerely care about helping their customers. From parts replacements by HD to color matching thread from Boki you will not be disappointed. If you order online the shipping turnaround is fantastic. Can’t wait to live within driving distance!

Savannah Piacquaddio: A beautiful and clean store with a gorgeous assortment of fabrics! It was my first time at the shop and they answered all my questions and went out of their way to help me. It was a very motivating experience for a novice seamstress like me!

Marilyn Stook: The store is very nice an clean but the hours are limited. Sales personnel are always very nice and helpful

Dukeandmandy: I made a online purchase and accidentally purchased a high dollar item that I didn’t mean to leave in my cart. The website had an easy access phone number to call, no searching, and a very friendly lady answered the phone on a Sunday when they were closed and did a immediate return to my card. I haven’t even been in the store yet and I already love them. I will definitely be shopping here a lot. Amazing service.

Lissette Nunez: Great customer service

Rachel Coronado: First looks at the new store and its so inviting. Very bright and first thing you see are multiple fabrics to choose from. Open almost everyday of the week too. They will be opening on Sat I heard as well. Super friendly staff and great selections!

Shannon Smith: Nice selection of fabric. Friendly staff.

someday sewer: Cute shop definitely in the modern category. Have a couple shelves of beach type fabric and huge clearance section. Also carries Riley Blake and Tula Pink

Keep Me In Stitches - Clearwater: what do users think?

Heidi Coykendall: Always friendly folks, very knowledgeable about their products

Stephanie Hernandez: As if one Keep Me in Stitches store wasn't enough to captivate my sewing-loving heart, their second location has now left me completely spellbound! I couldn't believe my luck when I discovered they had expanded, and I simply had to check it out. From the moment I walked through the doors of their second store, I knew I was in for another delightful sewing adventure. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by the same warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like you're among old friends. The staff here, just like at their first location, are exceptional—knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to assist with any sewing-related questions. What's especially wonderful about having two locations is the opportunity to explore different events and workshops. Each store hosts its own unique gatherings, which means I can now double the fun by attending even more sewing classes and meeting like-minded crafters. One of the best things about Keep Me in Stitches' second location is that it maintains the same level of excellence in its presentation and organization. It's a well-kept and delightful space to browse, shop, and indulge in all things sewing-related.If you're in the area and even remotely interested in sewing, don't miss the chance to experience the wonder of Keep Me in Stitches' second location. Trust me, you'll be leaving with a cart full of sewing delights and a heart full of inspiration!

Robin Davitt: KMIS is my happy place. I am delightfully addicted to the eye-candy fabric, the classes, the machines, but …. most of all the staff, especially Allen. When someone in the military says, “He knows his stuff!” …. it’s a very high compliment for someone highly competent. Allen knows his stuff and is willing to share it. Allen, I value you, appreciate you, and admire you. You’re the best! Thank you for everything. I am so grateful for having discovered KMIS and you.

Desiree Etheridge: I’ve bought 4 machines in the past 2 years from KMIS. Each time I out grew my machines and upgraded. They gave me a generous trade in price on the upgrade. I bought my machines from Allen. Allen is a good sales person, not pushy and he doesn’t lie. When you buy a machine here it comes with full in person instructions. Allen is a great educator, engaging, informative and fun. When you buy a sewing machine here, as opposed to online, you always have a resource person to call. This is also a great place to shop for quality fabric. I highly recommend this business for your sewing needs. The entire staff is very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. It’s a really fun place to be, it’s one of my happy places. Thanks Allen and Darcie, for everything.

Krupa Patel: They are a great source of information and ideas. I purchased a machine from the store and I appreciate the great customer service by Darcy and Allen.

Ree (Ree's Treasures): They always nice and very helpful and have a plethora of knowledge.

Brenda Douglas: Nice friendly place to shop

Chan Bliss: Keep me in Stitches has a wonderful selection of beautiful fabrics. The staff is very helpful answering our questions and offering useful advise. Keep me in Stitches is our go to quilting store.

Sheri Foxworth: I have visited the new Clearwater location that just opened in Oct. 2020. I have been very impressed with the staff and the fabrics. I am looking at the Bernette b79, and have gone in to ask questions a couple of times, because I need to be certain before making an expensive "hobby" purchase. They have been extremely patient with me. They work on commission; I know this because I asked because I used to work in sales and understand that that is important. I am very grateful and will be purchasing from them... Family will be getting this for me for Christmas. I'm so excited and Christmas cannot get here soon enough. Hee, hee. ..or should I say "Ho, Ho, Ho." -

Shannon Sitek: I bought a new Baby Lock Jubilant machine as a second machine here in Florida. Allen was fantastic at instructing me on all the ins and outs of the machine. The fabric selection is top notch and the staff are friendly and helpful. Great quilting shop!

Timmea Sparks: Nice place didn't have what I needed but they were very helpful.

Scrap & Sew: what do users think?

Kristina Holden: This store is beautifully organized, and the fabrics are devine. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Heidi Coykendall: One of my favorite shops. Lots of fabric, classes, patterns and friendly staff

Robyn Calabrese: Great for all sewing, embroidery, and quilting needs. All the people working there are super knowledgeable in their craft and have excellent advice. Love it! I am signing up for class. These ladies are insanely knowledgeable and so happy to share their knowledge with you. Love it!

Krissy (trickykrissy): Store is gorgeous great selection of material and accessories. They service machines and did a great job, reasonably priced. The staff works hard and is super knowledgeable. They also offer classes if anyone is interested.

Annette Percival: If you are in the market to buy a new sewing machine, you should not consider buying anywhere else because the best part of buying a machine from Scrap N Sew, is the service after the sale. I now own two Pfaff machines and I drive all the way from Orlando because their service is exceptional. The Pfaff machines are very high quality with state of the art technology, but in order to use all of these advanced features, you need staff that totally understand the machines.Cindy and Lori worked with me, patiently as I upgraded from a Viking Sapphire to the Pfaff Icons. They spent so much time with me, and never made me feel like I was bothering them. And when I would call to get help on the phone, Kathy was great about trying to help me as well. The store offers an abundance of classes, and they have a lovely selection of fabrics, but also an extensive collection of notions. And that is why I drive two hours each way to go to the store! There is another store closer, but the staff does not have the knowledge so it’s worth the extra windshield time to get excellent service after the sale.

Joann Rodgers: Lori, and All the staff at Scrap and Sew are Amazing! Excellent at teaching, repairing machines, the best of quality materials......So happy I found their store! Very Friendly and Professional Thank You Ladies!!!

Maureen Capps: Friendly service. Great variety! Always fun to shop here!

Annette Schultz: Looks bigger than it is

DWGisblessed: Wow. Amazing!

Rene Cashion: I went in a complete novice. The store is clean and organized and has an amazing group of employees there. I have never been able to thread a machine and after one lesson there I was able to not only to pick a machine that I can learn with, but I can thread! I’m very excited to start my sewing journey!

Tim Poulos: Great quilting store.

Eva Gronke: Huge selection and very helpful staff

Yuki: The staff is super friendly and helpful. They will take deposits to hold the more expensive machines, and offer classes to teach you how to use them. I can't wait to come back!

Frederick Harris: Great place

Christina Kmetz: . Looking forward to returning in the future!

Judy Brown: Received a gift card for Christmas for this lovely little store. Went once to scope it out and was so surprised by the great selection and helpful staff. Went back later when I had more time to browse. Spent the whole gift card and double! Prices and selection were comparable to other fabric stores, but service was OUTSTANDING! I'll be going back soon.

Lynn Downing: Great service!

Tampa Hackerspace: what do users think?

William Ellison (Bill): Fascinating facility with excellent equipment. I took the tour and met some friendly, helpful people. I'm looking forward to joining Hackerspace to enjotake advantage of their 3D printers, fabric arts and woodworking areas. They also have an electrical hobby shop that interests me.

Bryan VanWagner: This is a great place if you want to try a new hobby or are a seasoned professional. Too many things to list here. Visit their website.

Sarah Lunsford: This place is amazing! They have so many types of machines, tools, materials and classes. Totally worth the $50/month OR the $75 family membership split up to three ways. Staff are all volunteers and are awesome and knowledgeable.

Jeff Anderson: Have belonged for several years. Great group and lots of equipment

Kj: Big wood shop with saw stop table saw, jointer, planer, bandsaw, router tables, and much much more.Metal shop has a knee mill, lathes, CNC, bandsaw, and more of the typical metal working machines/tools.Mig and Tig weldingPlasma cutterPrusa 3d printers, and several other 3d printersLaser cutterFully stocked electronics areaTextiles/sewingSeveral kilns for ceramicsVinal cutter and t shirt pressOpen 24/7Classes and a great group of makers

Emma H: . I learn a lot about coding. I have learned HTML and block code.

Tom Wilson: Neat concept. Kind of a co-opish membership place with something for most. Has a variety of activities and classes where kids are given "stuff and a screwdriver" and encouraged to take things apart and lean how they work. Lots of old electronics they can play with or scavenge parts. wood working, sewing, shop, 3d printing, electronics, modeling, etc. If you can't find something interesting, you're not trying hard enough. Went in with a friend who's a member for a little tour.No "store hours". They aren't in the business to sell you anything. Just a group of similarly minded individuals. Have to be there with a member or for scheduled community activities.

Mark Perhot: What an awesome place to excite the imagination and realize the ideas of the curious, the tinkerer, the inventor, the entrepreneur!

Sean Morris: Everything a geek needs. They have tools and classes for all ages. Whether you're into electrical engineering, wood working, metal work, or even sewing this is the place to be.

Suzie Sims-Fletcher: WOW! I visited this space with friends who belong. I was so very impressed with how clean, organized, well supplied, etc. it was. So much space and so many options of equipment, classes, ideas. If I lived nearby I would certainly check out becoming a member.

John Hildebrand: Smart people, awesome set of tools to make stuff with. 3D printers, laser cutter, machine shop and a complete wood shop with tools.

Ziyad Tawfiqi: Great Makerspace. Really glad to apart of the family! Everyone is soo friendly and help u out whenever u need help. Classes are available on meetup and alot of useful classes are tought. Cheers to all of the board and stewards and members who keep this place amazing

Mardi Howell: Awesome place to create and be around like minded people!

Naitik Patel: Is there any business hours ? I’m just giving 5 star just to find business hours cause it won’t let me post my question

Dorcas's Dressmaking & Alterations: what do users think?

Andrew Assad: Timely, friendly, professional. I will definitely be coming back here for alternation needs!!

Celine Montcerisier: If I could give Dorca 10 stars I would. I came in panicked over my dress being too big and not the style I wanted. She listened to my vision and executed it beautifully. The jacquard organza was apparently incredibly difficult to alter and she did an amazing job. Also within 8 weeks! And reasonably priced for the work she did. I couldn’t be more thankful. I’ll be back again! Posted a before and after photo for reference!

Jaime Umpleby: I had a great experience at Dorca’s for my wedding dress alterations. Ly was so patient and understanding with me as I was anxious about my wedding dress fitting correctly. She even let me come by after hours one day to try on my dress again after I was having second thoughts about the alterations we were going to make. She wanted to make sure I was at ease and happy with the way I looked in my wedding dress and reassured me that it was going to look great. My dress fit beautifully on my wedding day and I will definitely be going back to Dorca’s for any alterations needed in the future! I highly recommend trusting them with your gown for your special day!

HEATHER WAKEMAN: I had a jumpsuit altered for my welcome party for my wedding and it came out perfect. The service was great, the alterations didn’t take long, and the price was very reasonable. I’ll definitely be bringing future items here.

Nick Mattingly: Thank you for your help with my suit. I will definitely be back for any future alterations.

Isabella Guisasola: The best in Tampa!!!

Matthew Jefferson: Great shop for your alteration needs!

Carly Kien: Dorcas welcomed us so warmly from the very first time we visited and has been our go-to for alterations ever since. Highly recommend for everything from a simple hem to a full wedding dress rebuild!!

Diana Gibson: Great prices and skill! I have had several garments taken care of here from hems, getting items taken in, to repairing holes on the seams and it has always been a job well done. Lee is so kind and great at what she does and I would definitely recommend Dorcas to anyone in need of sewing needs!

Amanda P: I brought my wedding dress in here to get altered. They did a good job shrinking my dress down about four sizes. Unfortunately the place I bought my dress recommended the larger size to order because while you can go smaller you can’t go bigger. Because of this my dress ended up swallowing me, especially since I lost quite a bit of weight. Luckily my dress was altered to fit me a lot better. Overall I had a good experience and I know if I need anything else altered that I can go here in the future.

Mabel Burns: she realized, that they had not done any of the alterations or hemming of her dress! We were frantic!A friend recommended Dorcas. We went, and were met by Lee, who smiled at us, and calmly said "don't worry, we can take care of you". And they did!!!!!She even made a few recommendations to ensure a perfect fit. No rush fees, just professionalism and kindness!THANK YOU VERY MUCH:

M Siew: Dorcas Dressmaking worked a miracle for me. I wanted a VERY custom wedding dress of my own design and first tried a different seamstress who claimed she could do it. After stringing me along for two months, the seamstress abruptly dropped the project due to her inability to create it without a pattern. When I finally found Dorcas, I had only about three months left before my wedding day. Dorca reassured me from the start that the dress would be no problem and ready before my wedding day. I had such little hope at that point from my prior disappointments, but she completed the project marvelously. It was ready 5 days before me wedding and everything was exactly as I envisioned. She is an expert in her craft and needed no pattern to create what I wanted, only an illustration. I can't say enough good things about her and her work. She paid very close attention to detail and made sure everything in the lace pattern was symmetrical and fit perfectly. If you have a dream wedding dress that exists only in your mind, she can bring it to life! You have absolutely found the right person for all your seamstress and tailoring needs.Services:Formal,Pressing steaming,Vintage gowns,Custom dress design,Fitting custom tailoring,Bridal bridesmaids

Celeste B: Absolutely love the ladies in here!! They are amazing at what they do!! My dress fit perfectly and was the proper length! I will definitely be coming back for any future alterations!!Service:Alterations

Kait Bator: AMAZING! They we so quick and so wonderful to work with. My wedding dress alterations came out perfectly and I will 100% be back for any future needs!

Anthony Schmidt: Virginia is an absolute sweetheart. Her service is 2nd to NONE. She is an expert in her craft and it shows with her results. Her pricing is a bit high but what do you expect when you want the best in Tampa? Utilizing a loyalty rewards program or something as simple as a certain percentage off for return customers will keep people coming back. 😉 Thanks again Virginia!

melanie penman: and they turned out perfect. She is not only an amazing seamstress, but a kind and authentic person. Thank you Virginia and we’ll be back!!Services:Pants alterations,Formal wear tailoring,Women's clothing alterations
