carlos martinez: My daughter has been attending this school for almost 2 years now. It is by far the best martial arts program and after school care we could ask for. We tried other schools, sports and programs but could not find a place that would help her break out of her shell. The instructors here at MA2 were able to reach her and develop her self esteem to what we see today. She is super outgoing now and speaks her mind with respect. Martial Arts Advantage is more than just after school care, it is an awesome place for adults to train as well. I joined the hyper class and have already dropped over 40lbs!! It is definitely a family atmosphere were we push each other and leave it all on the mat!! Progress is left in puddles!! So glad we found you guys!! He was scared to talk to other kids and make friends. I can say coming here really broke him out of that. He is definitely not the same kid he is more outspoken, not as shy as he was. I come about 2-3 days a week and enjoy every class that I have with Mr. Chris, Mr. Steven, and Mr. Cristian. Having had the opportunity to compare it with other noteworthy schools, I found that this one particularly appeals to me. The program is well-structured, easy to follow, and the membership includes access to the outstanding online resources of Gracie University, especially the Combatives 2.0. The instructors are highly professional, know their stuff, and can explain each move with a level of detail that is highly beneficial for any beginner of the art or practitioners trying to improve their skills. All instructors make you feel welcome and encourage an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual learning that is hard to find in many schools. GMAT is certified by the Gracie family and follows their curriculum, which is easy to follow and allows you to build on each lesson, teaching moves that can be used in a street fight and not moves that can only be used in competitions. You get access to videos of each lesson so you can practice on your own and go over each move before and after class.I am a Law Enforcement Officer; I trained in a different school for 6 months and was discouraged by the lack of a true curriculum I could follow, the fact that you start rolling with any belt after three classes, never having enough time with the basic moves to do anything other than get beat on every roll for six months and get injured often, and the total emphasis on competition versus real-life applications left me wondering why I was spending so much time and money doing this. This is how many schools operate, and there is nothing wrong with that; it is just not what I was looking for or needed. I drive 45 min each way to GMAT, I have already used many of the things I learned here in real life in law enforcement with real people, and I can tell you that this program works! Give it a shot. You won't regret it.
Alyssa Sanchez: The experience here is absolutely first class! The teachers: Emiliano, James & Kyle took us through a lovely class on standing guillotine choke and punch block series 1-4. We train at a Gracie Certified Training Center in Orlando and this was a day visit to Tampa and we are so glad we joined in to their welcoming community! Definitely will be back to visit again next time we’re in Tampa!

The structure of the training really has the Gracie Branding. The objective here is to help people and to empower them to become better. There is a program for everyone. Highly recommended.

This means that you are learning effective self defense strategies from day one. This means that you will be prepared to use what you have learned in a real situation

Our son went from being tearful to go out on the mat to begging to go twice a week. There is absolutely no one like Sensei Monica with kids! She is so hands on during the entire class and somehow gets an entire class of 3-5 year olds to listen and learn while having so much fun. Natalia D: Currently taking family classes and Sifu Garret is an amazing instructor. We learned so much in just the first class under his instruction. He teaches at a quicker pace while still making it easy to understand, allowing us to get the most out of each class. If your looking for a place and instructor thats truly effective and worth your time, you’ve found it.

Jennifer Salapa: I wanted to drop a quick note of thanks to Impact Martial Arts! The instructor was amazing with my 4 year old and really, really encouraged him throughout his first class. We had a terrible experience at another facility, and I was worried my son wasn't going to be open to trying again. Mr. Petrov's approach to him was so inviting that my son jumped right in, and even when he got a little intimidated Mr. Petrov did not make him feel bad and after a couple of minutes just watching with me he was right back into it. I am just so thrilled that he participated because the program is excellent and I think it's really going to help my son develop both physically and emotionally. Mr. Petrov is a wonderful role model and teaches the kids respect and responsibility all while having fun and getting out that energy. We went from class 1x a week when they were younger to the after-school program and I am so happy we did. The program picks them up from school, assists with homework as needed, provides an outlet for energy through fun and hard work and most importantly my kids love going. Mr. And Mrs. Petrov and Brandi are so wonderful with the kids and treat everyone like family. I would highly recommend Impact martial arts!

lai chau: My experience at Gracie Tampa South BJJ has been amazing. My 7 yr old son has been training there for 2 yrs and has flourished! Coach David is an amazing hands on coach - someone who knows how to motivate a student to want to be their best. He encourages them and lifts them up making my son want to try harder and do better. My son was bullied at school, Coach David would have little pep talks with him, boosting his confidence and helping him not be scared. The whole team at Gracie South is phenomenal. Matt Arroyo, the owner, usually trains adults, however takes time out to train and roll with the little kids --- they LOVE it! Coach Christine and Caleb usually host parents night out making it so much fun my kids don't want to go home! The keyword for this gym is that it is FUN!!!!! The gym is safe and very clean. Honestly, its the best gym and I feel comfortable having my son go there. You won't find a more caring, family-like environment than Gracie South.

Charlie Hettinger: Can’t say enough good things about this place. High level training, active and up and coming UFC/BJJ athletes. Coming into BJJ in my late 30s I’ve found great training partners and a welcoming and friendly environment. The kids program is incredible. The owners Mat and Nat are heavily involved and you can feel the attention to detail everywhere from the coaching and events to the thoroughly cleaned training mats. If you are considering MMA or BJJ you need to come give this gym a try.
